(Annually malaria kills one million children and produces more than 500 million clinical cases) out of a population estimated at two thousand five hundred million people. What we promised this discovery, earned in 1994 Prince of Asturias Award for Scientific and Technical Research. In 1999 WHO tested the vaccine in the Gambia, Tanzania and Thailand, with results partially effective.
